Thomas Comes to Town

Yesterday, Skip, Alex and I traveled over to Lancaster County to meet Thomas the Tank Engine. The Strasburg Railroad hosts Thomas three times a year. Alexander basically loved it. My favorite part of the day was lunch on the train in the dining car, when Alex tried (and loved) his first pickle. He is my son!

Three Wheelin'

Alexander took his first spin on his new tricycle today. Following a good dose of healthy skepticism, he seemed to get the hang of it, although definitely likes being pushed by one of us more than he enjoys pedaling.

A Birthday Safari

When we started planning Alexander's birthday celebration, Skip had two requests. That the party:
a) Not be here
b) Not cost as much as his first birthday party.

Then he remarked about how much he would like to celebrate Alex's second birthday in Bermuda. Given that a trip to Bermuda would fail on requirement b, I won. We had his birthday party local, at the Philadelphia Zoo.

Alexander loved the day. I think the other kids and big kids also seemed to have fun. We're tired, smelling a bit of elephant, and our feet are really sore, but in all it was worth it. The final few photos below are of Alex and Chloe having a dance party following a nap after the party, and then sacking out while watching a little Nemo before bed.
